"We were heading to Cracker Barrel and saw this place on the way in. We'd much rather eat at a local place over a chain. We also love the nostalgia of an older place. We believe it was actually Mrs. Rowe who seated us! it was 8:00 on a Saturday morning and it wasn't very busy and I hate to see that! I'm hoping it was just an off day or we missed the rush. Our waitress was a lovely young lady and she did a great job. The food came out quick! Coffee was good and they leave a carafe on the table! I had 1/2 order of creamed beef over toast with a side of grilled hash brown potatoes and my husband had a full order of creamed chip beef over biscuits with a side of fried apples! It was all good but the only reason I'm giving 4 stars is my potatoes were Luke warm and a little dried out like they had been sitting there and just warmed up. The potatoes would have been excellent if they came out hot and fresh! I did mix them in with the gravy and ate them. I forgot to take pictures of the food!"

"We love Mrs Rowe's when we visit the Frontier Cultural Museum. Prefer home cooked meals to the chain restaurants. Famous for their coconut cream pie. Appreciate the Southern hospitality."

"My first time here today and let me tell you the food was amazing and home-cooked. I mean ALL of it! Rolls, salad dressing, desserts; everything was cooked and not simply opened up from a Sysco delivery truck as is far too common. The mashed potatoes were homemade and lumpy which is the best! Serving size was great and the prices were very reasonable. Staff was super friendly and the place was clean as could be. My wife and I got the Saturday special for $14.95 which included a choice of entree (we got the hamburger steak with gravy) and two sides and a drink. The homemade mashed potatoes and mac and cheese were delicious! Green beans were just okay and the side salad was good but the homemade French dressing was the bomb.com! We also loved the fresh-baked rolls with real butter. We were too full to try the homemade desserts but they looked amazing as well. We can't wait to return!"

"Got tired of fast food on the road trip so stopped at Mrs. Rowe's. It was fast and friendly and delicious. My only reason for less than 5 stars was a limited menu. You can't blame a small place off the beaten path for keeping it small, and I don't know what I was hoping to get but maybe more sandwich options. The reuben sandwich was loaded and made perfectly. Id definitely try again and it is a great alternative to fast food. If I was hungrier I'd try the peach pie, it looked great!"

"We've been customers for a many years, and there might not be anything better than a Mrs. Rowe's homemade pie. Our favorites are the lemon meringue and the peanut butter pie, we always get a few extra to take back home."

- Lindsay H.

"This is a decent home cooking style restaurant with some very good fresh baked breads. Started our meal with the pies, so that we knew we wouldn't be too full. They were well prepared, tasted good, and they have a nice selection to choose from. The burger and sandwich were also nicely constructed with sufficient quantity to make for a very filling meal. The side dishes were pretty good with decent seasoning. The most stand-out part of the meal was the fresh, home-made bread."

"Old fashioned country cooking. We had the hamburger steak special, club sandwich and bbq sandwich during this visit. Very good food and friendly waitress."
